COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG -- TRAVELOG

Open splice 09/21/2022 dmp^Record number 114727^A tour of the restored colonial city of Williamsburg, Virginia. 1) Opening title card reads "17th Century Capital of England's Virginain Colonies - only city in America that accurately portrays its colonial heritage." 2) The doors of William and Mary are opened as the camera passes into the gardens. 3) Students are shown strolling around the campus in front of the 17th Century academic building. 4) There is also a shot of the school's dormitories. 5) This is followed by various shots of different shops downtown, although the buildings may be old they are utilized for things like the grocery store, bank & trust company and a pharmacy. 6) Some old homes have since become museums and even the fire department is in a reconstructed building. 7) The historic courthouse is utilized as an archive. 8) This film is rather fun to watch as there are many 1930's cars shown. 9) After seeing the downtown area there is footage of the homes with their beautiful gardens and an outside view of Sir Walter Raleigh Tavern. 10) An old restored stage coach pulls up to the colonial capitol and women dressed in historic fashion get out and go into the building. 11) Cars drive past the historic building and there are many angles of the building shown. 12) There is a shot of the clock tower with a colonial flag waving in the air. 13) The next stop is the Governor's Palace with many shots of its magnificent landscaped grounds. 14) Tourist are shown entering thru the gates of the palace, then there are close - ups of the statues surrounding the estate. 15) A hostess shows some tourists the kitchen area and the old well, then they visit the vegetable gardens and fish pond. 16) The next place to visit is the colonial burial grounds located on the palace grounds, then the story ends with additional footage around the palace gardens.
