August Offensive -- Unidentified World War I Documentary

Box 5752 Record number 242197^�This is a dupe negative of a silent documentary, not just �footage� as is implied by the supplied title. It might be a short subject (if so, a three-reeler, with this being the middle reel) or a feature (with this being one of the middle reels). It is not an original negative but a dupe negative. The subtitles are printed onto a sheet of paper from the Treasury Department Motion Picture Bureau of Ontario. A note from Jeff Joseph called it �British.� What the actual title is, who knows? There are no edge codes to help. It seems to have been made right near the end of the war. This dupe negative is made much later than 1918; I�d guess the late 1930s. Probably it should be reinventoried as �Unidentified Silent Documentary,� or something similar. We can decide that when I return it after it is copied.� JG 3/27/2018
