Rufus M., Try again

Pallet #2^Rufus M. is the third book about the Moffat family by Newbery award-winner Eleanor Estes. This film dramatizes chapter one, where Rufus Moffat learned about the library. His older brother and sister had taunted him that he could not read. With great determination, he went to the library to check out a book only to meet with a librarian who was determined that no one, but no one, could check out a book if he couldn�t write his name. Two equally determined characters are bound to clash, and the rest of the film traces their conflict and eventual reconciliation, when Rufus does learn to print his name. A warm, amusing story showing that perserverance pays off.
