Pallet #5^Faded color^The story of the American Revolution is dramatized through the experiences of an ordinary soldier, John Putnam of Massachusetts. The film depicts the crossing of the Delaware, the subsequent victory at Trenton, the hardship of the encampment at Valley Forge and the valiant leadership offered by George Washington. In the face of hopelessness and hardship, why does John Putnam stay with the army? In flashback, the film recapitulates some of the circumstances leading to the uprising of the Colonies. John Putnam has witnessed suppression of liberty and because of this is determined to support Washington�s fight for independence. The film recounts the advent of French aid and the turning of the tide in favor of the Revolutionary Army. A new technique of animated illustration is used.
