Pallet #9^Box #90004^Hunter - Killer Team^This film which originally aired as the television program "See It Now" ^1) The narrator of the program is shown interviewing the commander of the ship and asking about how the ship would get their information about subs in a given area and the actions of what would happen after the alert was signaled.^2) There is then footage of an American Navy Submarine acting like an enemy sub off of the southern part of Greenland and east of the United States that attempts to simulate an underwater attack on Washington D.C.^3) The film shows people working on the sub as they begin to descend, including shots of the diesel room.^4) While the sub is submerging there is a shot from above the water showing the sub going below.^5) The sub submerges to 55 feet below the water then levels off, close - up show the depth gages, the captain then raises the periscope and looks into it.^6) The US Liberty Ship finds an unidentified sub and the men on the ship prepare to look for and destroy the sub. A sailor blows the whistle to prepare for attack, scenes are shown in the radar room where officers are trying to plot out the exact location of the sub.^7) Close - ups of sailors faces as they get ready to climb inot fighter planes and prepare for attack.^8) There are some interesting interior shots from some of the planes.^9) The planes fly off into the air to search for the sub.^10) The footage goes back to the sub and shows interior shots of some men working on the radar.^11) The planes locate the subs at first, but then the sub goes deeper and the planes loose them and head back to the ship.^12) The next day the weather is extremely bad and no planes are allowed out.^13) Eventually the weather clears and helicopters go out to sea, they drop sound equipment into the water to try to listen for the sub. ^14) The helicopter picks up the subs on the equipment and radio back to the ship, however, the ship needs to be within firing distance.^15) The ship's sonar shows the sub approaching and the ship fires underwater missiles.^16) The men on the sub are now in danger and they prepare for war.^17) The sub is hit by a missile and is shown on top of the water smoking.^18) The Commander along with the narrator talks about the simulation that just unfolded.
